Ajay Devgn’s premium cinema chain Devgn CineX is making a bold entry into South India with 18 new screens across Bengaluru and Hyderabad by year-end 2026. The Devgn Cinex Hyderabad multiplex will bring luxury cinema to Telangana’s capital, while Bengaluru gets its first Devgn CineX megaplex.
The expansion includes an 11-screen megaplex in Bengaluru and a 7-screen luxury property at Coliseum Mall, Karmanghat in Hyderabad.
With 57 screens already operational across India and 30 more underway, Devgn CineX is rapidly strengthening its pan-India footprint. This southern push marks a strategic shift for the premium cinema brand co-founded by Ajay Devgn and Vishwa Samudra Group.
Devgn CineX Hyderabad: Luxury Cinema at Karmanghat
The Devgn Cinex Hyderabad property will launch in November 2026, likely coinciding with the much-awaited release of Ramayana on Diwali. The seven-screen multiplex promises Dolby immersive sound, 3D viewing, luxury recliners, gourmet food options, and refined interiors.
Ajay Devgn aims to blend classic theatre elegance with cutting-edge cinema technology, positioning Devgn CineX as a premium alternative in Hyderabad’s competitive multiplex market.
Bengaluru Megaplex: 11 Screens Coming Soon
The Bengaluru expansion features an 11-screen megaplex, marking Devgn CineX’s first significant presence in Karnataka. Details about the specific location in Bengaluru are expected to be announced soon.
This strategic entry into two major South Indian metros reflects the brand’s ambition to capture the growing demand for premium cinema experiences in the region.
From NY Cinemas to Devgn CineX: Scaling to 250 Screens
Previously known as NY Cinemas, the brand was officially rebranded as Devgn CineX in October 2025 during Durga Puja in Mumbai. The cinema chain was founded by Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn in partnership with the Vishwa Samudra Group, led by Shivdutt Das.
Devgn CineX currently operates 57 screens across 19 locations in cities like Mumbai, Gurugram, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, and Thane. The company has set an ambitious target of reaching 250 screens by 2030, focusing on both metro cities and emerging tier-2 markets.
The South India expansion is a critical milestone in this growth strategy, bringing premium cinema experiences to audiences in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
